Financial freedom in God’s Kingdom isn’t about what you keep, but what you release. Tithing isn’t a debt to be paid; it is a key that unlocks heaven’s windows. When we move from religious habit to Spirit-led giving, we trade a life of toil for a life of grace. Here are five steps to align your heart with God’s system of increase.

  1. Recognize the Tithe as Holy and Set ApartThe tithe—the first ten percent—is not yours to spend; it belongs to the Lord as a matter of honor. Malachi 3:10 teaches that bringing the whole tithe into the storehouse opens the windows of heaven over your life. By separating the tithe first, you acknowledge that God is the source of all your increase and the protector of your wealth. Scripture:Malachi 3:10 — “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts…”
  2. Give from a Heart of Joy, Not NecessityGod is not looking at the amount as much as He is looking at the “cheerfulness” of the giver’s heart. 2 Corinthians 9:7 instructs us that giving should never be done grudgingly or out of a sense of forced obligation. When you give happily, you align your spirit with the nature of God, who is the ultimate and most joyful Giver. Scripture:2 Corinthians 9:7 — “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give… for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
  3. Purge Your Giving from “Toil” through PurposeGodly giving is intentional; it is a “purpose” made in the heart before the offering basket arrives. Decide on your seeds and offerings ahead of time so your giving is a deliberate act of worship rather than a random reaction. Planning your giving allows you to sow strategically into specific “Real Issues” or ministry goals you believe in. Scripture:2 Corinthians 9:7 — “…according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give…”
  4. Speak the Word over Your Seed (The Prophet’s Reward)In the Kingdom, we don’t just “drop” money; we “release” seeds with words of faith and power. Hebrews 7:8 shows that while men receive tithes here, Jesus receives them in heaven as a testimony of our faith. Confess that as you give, your “windows of heaven” are open and the devourer is rebuked on your behalf. Scripture:Hebrews 7:8 — “And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.”
  5. Expect a Harvest and Manage the IncreaseGiving is a spiritual law of “Seedtime and Harvest” that never fails as long as the earth remains. Luke 6:38 promises that when you give, it shall be given back to you in a “good measure, pressed down, and running over.” Manage your return with wisdom, ensuring you remain a “kingdom-addict” who uses wealth to further the Gospel. Scripture:Luke 6:38 — “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over…”
